Newcastle trainer Nathan Doyle heads to Coffs Harbour on Tuesday with a couple of progessive gallopers which have a liking for heavy conditions.

With wet track gallopers out in force, a leading provincial stable is eying off a smart double strike at Tuesday’s Coffs Harbour meeting.

And after an absence of nearly eight months, there was a lot to like about her fresh run in a Benchmark 68 at home just 10 days ago, beaten just over a length. That run augurs well coming back to country opposition, as does being a daughter of the late, great Group 1-winning wet tracker Sebring.Then in the Maiden Plate over 1005 metres, lightly raced filly Ivy’s Way is out to rebound from a nasty setback at Hawkesbury five weeks ago.
