Multiple blasts have hit two churches and two hotels in Sri Lanka on Easter Sunday, reportedly causing casualties among worshippers.

An explosion reportedly ripped through St Anthony's Shrine in the capital Colombo and at St Sebastian's Church in Negombo.

Eye-witnesses say buildings in the surrounding area shook with the blast and a number of injured people were carried in ambulances. Local media have reported that around 50 people have so far been taken to Colombo's main hospital.
