Dragons have reportedly signed Sharks star Daniel Atkinson to a three-year deal worth $500,000 per season. The contract is expected to total $1.5 million, making it unaffordable for the Sharks and leading to Atkinson's departure. The Sharks , however, have no intention of allowing Atkinson to terminate his contract early and will have a 10-day window to convince him to stay.
Atkinson, who will play as the club's starting five-eighth, joins other off-season signings such as Clint Gutherson, Valentine Holmes, Damien Cook, and Lachlan Ilias. The Bulldogs are also reportedly in the race to recruit Knights star Leo Thompson, who has met with Raiders officials and is also of interest to the Eels and Dolphins
