Drake backed Jon Jones to win at UFC 285, and it certainly paid off 🤑
to become the UFC heavyweight champion at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night following a three-year hiatus from MMA., Drake took to social media to reveal he had placed two big bets on Jones to finish Gane who went the distance with Francis Ngannou in the only loss he’d previously suffered.
The rap star bet £207,730 on the former two-time light-heavyweight champion to win by knockout and £207,730 for him to win by submission. If the 35-year-old would’ve secured a knockout win Drake would’ve made £1.08 million but he ended up earning £1.41 million when Jones tapped Gane out in just over two minutes.Drake is notorious for betting on sports people or teams and then they go on to lose, with ‘The Problem Child’ scored a late knockdown against Tommy Fury but went on to lose a split decision after being outboxed for the majority of their grudge match in Saudi Arabia.
Ahead of the fight, Drake revealed that he had bet $400,000 on Paul to win by KO and the former Disney actor jokingly blamed the Canadian for his defeat during his post-fight press conference.
