Two men were dramatically apprehended by police at a Hungry Jacks drive through in Darwin, after one of them allegedly assaulted locals with a crossbow. 9News
"The man in question came into possession of a stolen Toyota Hilux and his behavior escalated from then," Day alleged.
Police allege he went back to the property a short time later with a shotgun, prompting officers to deem him of "high risk" to the public. "Unfortunately during this apprehension the male tried to evade police and reversed at speed into a civilians car and caused major damage to that vehicle. At the scene multiple witness described being "scared" by the incident, as they did not know the men were plain-clothed officers.Day urged people to "look at the result".
