A jarring change in the weather will unfold across the region, with the potential for a taste of winter for some in time for Halloween and the following days.It will feel more like early September than later October across the Northeast into Saturday, but some of the coldest air so far this season lurks on the horizon.
Conditions will remain spectacular along I-95, the beaches and much of the Appalachians through Saturday as warmth combines with at least partial sunshine to make for conditions more typical of early to mid-September rather than late October, according to AccuWeather forecasters. The cold front marking the leading edge of the much colder air will bring clouds and spotty showers from Ohio, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania to upstate New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and northern Maine into Saturday night.
"The coldest air of the season sets in for Tuesday and beyond, with high temperatures 25-35 degrees lower than the peak of the warmth from Saturday," DeVore said. By Tuesday and Wednesday, much of the I-95 zone will experience temperatures closer to historical averages for late November or early December with highs in the 40s to the low 50s.
