Driver, 95, dies several days after head-on crash in Grantville [Breaking]
A driver who suffered life-threatening injuries in a head-on collision in Grantville earlier this month died Monday, the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Robert Sherman George died 11 days after the crash —which happened the day before he turned 95 years old. George had been headed west on Camino Del Rio North in a 1988 Toyota pickup just after 11:20 a.m. March 2 when his pickup crossed into the center lane dividing the road and struck a 2019 Honda SUV head on just west of Fairmount, San Diego police reported.The San Diego resident was taken to a hospital, where his health continued to decline until he died, the Medical Examiner’s office said.
The driver of the Honda, a 77-year-old woman, complained of pain in her chest after the crash. Authorities have not provided an update on her condition.
