The 32-year-old man was caught allegedly hiding under a bush after losing control of a removal van and slamming into a power pole. Locals on Jackson Rd in Noble Park North were woken by a deafening bang just before 3am on Monday.
While one man was seen allegedly fleeing from the scene within seconds of the crash, a 47-year-old woman was left behind, still alive, but with catastrophic injuries. “I went out, I heard screaming and I found a lady in the car, trapped,” neighbour Rob Ridgley told 7NEWS. Paramedics were unable to save her. Detective-sergeant Stephen Hill told reporters he could not understand how someone could leave another person for dead. “These two people obviously know each other and he’s made the callous choice of just letting his passenger die,” Hill sai
