The man failed a roadside breathalyser test, according to police
A driver has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after being spotted by late night patrols in the Ribble Valley.
Last night , police received a call about a suspected drunk driver in Longridge. The man had reportedly been in a pub before getting in his car to drive home. Once officers caught up with the man, he was breathalysed and tested positive, according to Lancashire Police.A spokesperson for the force said: "On Friday 3rd March 2023 police received a call of a drink driver in the Longridge area. The driver had left a drinking establishment and passed the local patrol heading the direction of their home address.
"Local officers have caught up with the vehicle and noticed that the male driver was under the influence of alcohol. The male provided a road side breath test which was positive. The driver was subsequently arrested and taken through to custody. When the male becomes sober he will be charged and bailed to court.
"Road safety was highlighted as one of the 3 main areas raised by local residents. Police will take the necessary action of anyone leaving a drinking establishment under the influence. The Local NPT Team would like the community to report anyone driving under the influence putting their own and other lives at risk."
