A 34-year-old Woodbridge man is charged with aggravated manslaughter and two counts of vehicular homicide.
A 34-year-old driver was arrested following a three-vehicle crash in Highland Park that killed two occupants in another vehicle on Tuesday
Abeer Viriani was charged with aggravated manslaughter and two counts of vehicular homicide following the 5:30 p.m. crash at the corner of Route 27 and North 10th Street, theViriani, of the Iselin section of Woodbridge, struck two other vehicles. Two people in one of the cars — Easton, Maryland, residents Peter Palmer, 75 and Carol Paul, 77, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Viriani and the driver of the third vehicle were treated for minor injuries at an area hospital. Authorities didn’t describe how the crash took place, thoughVirani was then sent to the Middlesex County jail ahead of a first appearance in court. Attorney information wasn’t immediately available.
