A man has been charged after a serious head-on collision in Melbourne's west, where two baby girls were injured, one critically. The crash, which occurred near Deer Park, involved six occupants, including a 10-year-old girl, with three sustaining non-life-threatening injuries and one with life-threatening injuries.

A man has been charged over a serious head-on collision in Melbourne ’s west that has left two baby girls injured, including one critically. The babies were two of six occupants injured in the same car, including a 10-year-old girl, when the crash occurred on Station Rd, near Tulloch St, at Deer Park about 12.20am on Friday.

All three adults in the vehicle — a 22-year-old woman, a 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man — sustained minor injuries. The driver of the second car, a 22-year-old Niddrie man, was uninjured. The Niddrie man was arrested at the scene and later charged with dangerous driving causing serious injury and negligently cause serious injury. He will appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
