Digna Lazala, of Randolph, is accused of striking, 31, in a lot outside a supermarket in Clifton on Aug. 3, 2021. Villar-Severino was taken to a nearby hospital, where she died a day later.
Lazala is charged with obstructing administration of law and hindering apprehension, along with two motor vehicle offenses – failure to report an accident and careless driving. Last week, a municipal prosecutor offered Lazala a deal that would require she serve 90 days in jail in exchange for a guilty plea to one of the two criminal charges.
Lazala would also be required to plead guilty to the motor vehicle charge of failure to report an accident, Stampone said.
