A pedestrian has suffered head injuries after being mowed down by a driver, who went on to smash into a parked car before their own vehicle burst into flames inIt is believed the Toyota Yaris turned onto Wentworth Ave from Oxford St in Surry Hills when it hit a pedestrian crossing the road just before 11.30pm Monday.
The car continued on its path before it slammed into a parked SUV and caught fire, causing the driver to flee the scene.The 33-year-old victim was found lying on the floor and was rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition for treatment of head injuries, including a suspected fractured skull.
The Yaris ploughed into a pedestrian before it slammed into the back of an SUV and burst into flames.Fire and Rescue NSW officers were able to control the fire, however, the hatchback was destroyed and the SUV damaged.Anyone with CCTV or dashcam video is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.Credit:
