Two men have been arrested, Nottinghamshire Police say
A driver suffered a fractured spine and broken nose after being attacked by two men in a layby on an A-road in Nottinghamshire . The assault on the 44-year-old happened on the A610 city-bound near the M1 junction 26 roundabout at around 4.10pm on Saturday, March 30.
It followed a road rage incident where a grey Hyundai reportedly veered into the lane of the victim as he was driving his black Mercedes along Kelham Way, Eastwood. Both vehicles then headed along the A610 before the driver and passenger in the Hyundai gestured for the victim to pull over in the layby.
The driver of the Hyundai tried to open his window and when the victim opened his door he was punched in the face, Nottinghamshire Police said. The two occupants in the Hyundai then punched and kicked him before they drove away from the scene.Two men, aged 29 and 37, were arrested on Friday, April 26 in connection with the incident. They were subsequently released on conditional bail.
Detective Constable Shannon Hutchinson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Our inquiries are ongoing into this attack, including checking CCTV footage. We’re urging any members of the public who were passing at the time and saw what happened to please come forward with their information. “Similarly, we’re appealing for any drivers who may have captured dashcam footage of the altercation to please get in touch with us.”
