A man has been injured and three vehicles damaged by a man allegedly hiding in bushes and throwing rocks at cars in Melbourne’s southeast. Police are appealing for information after three separate vehicles were targeted while travelling along South Gippsland Hwy, Cranbourne about 4.25am on August 5. The vehicles slowed as the drivers swerved to avoid rubbish and debris on the road, police said. “As the vehicles slowed, rocks were thrown by someone hidden in the bushes,” police said.

Rocks smashed into the passenger window of the first car, a blue Toyota Corolla sedan, damaging the passenger side pillar. The second vehicle, a white Hino flatbed truck, was damaged when a rock hit the windshield and smashed a mirror. A rock then went through the windscreen of the third vehicle, a white Renault van, sending glass into the driver’s eye. He suffered minor injuries. Police said all three drivers stopped at the scene and saw a man running towards Lesdon Ave, Cranbourne.
