, which is how we came to find ourselves driving it near David's home outside of Waco, Texas. We noticed the truck amidst Mecum's Dallas lots, and reached out for more details on how the humble Roadster came to brush perfection. This snowballed into a short drive. Would you say no?Before we get to that part, a quick rewind.
Of course, Posten's U13 didn't look quite like this when he acquired it. It didn't even look like a Roadster. At some point during its life, which apparently started back in Texas, someone installed a hardtop and full doors. But it was complete otherwise, down to its 170-cubic-inch inline-six, standard four-wheel-drive, and three-on-the-tree manual transmission.
As David launches into a meticulous recounting of the classic truck's ins and outs and his restoration efforts from the shade of his shop, we stop him.
