Formula 1 maestro and last year’s Australian Grand Prix winner Max Verstappen will start on pole for this year’s race at Albert Park.
The reigning world champion Dutchman saved it until late to secure his spot at the top of the starting grid, racing out the street circuit in 1:15.915.
Verstappen secured the 35th pole of his career and is chasing a third-straight race win to start the 2024 Formula 1 season.Piastri’s teammate Lance Norris narrowly missed a top-three start.
