Households receiving Universal Credit, JSA, ESA, Income Support, Pension Credit, Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit are eligible
Benefit claimants in receipt of Universal Credit, JSA, ESA, Income Support, Pension Credit, Working Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit are eligible to receive the tax-free one-off payment from the end of the month. It is the second of three cost of living payments being issued by the government over the 2023/24 financial year.
The Office for National Statistics said Consumer Prices Index inflation stayed at the same rate as seen in August, despite expectations that inflation would fall again. Analysts had predicted inflation would dip to 6.6% for the month.
