The Blues boss may have to choose between two effective frontline strikers for the first time since his appointment when Everton next play
Sean Dyche is likely to have the problem he has long dreamed of when it comes to selecting Everton’s next starting XI.
The international break has arrived at a good time as a long list of players were unavailable for the trip to Sheffield United. Dyche said he had hoped for more incomings in the final stages of the transfer window but has maintained his belief in the squad at his disposal. When his search for a first win resumes against Arsenal - a game now moved from Saturday, September 16 to Sunday, September 17 - Calvert-Lewin is expected to be in contention following the facial injury he suffered at Aston Villa.
If Calvert-Lewin, the talisman who was crucial to Everton winning the home match with Arsenal last season, is available then Dyche will have difficulty choosing between the pair. Their similarities, and Dyche’s preference to play one striker, suggests it would not be both. Either way, it would be an issue Dyche will be happy to have.
