After three straight negative results in MLS play, the Dynamo got what they desired. Coco Carrasquilla scored in the 16th minute, and Darwin Quintero converted a penalty kick in the 53rd minute, giving the Dynamo an inspiring 2-0 win. Wearing all black and playing the entire second half with only 10 players, the Dynamo picked up an important three points. Houston played three center-backs a good portion over the final 45 minutes.Quintero put Houston’s first goal in motion, and Carrasquilla capped it off for his initial score of 2022. Memo Rodriguez’s right-footed shot from the right side was saved in the center of goal by Joe Willis.
Carrasquilla has been Houston’s most consistent midfielder, and the organization recognizes that. On Tuesday the Dynamo made his loan deal permanent, purchasing the Panamanian international from FC Cartagena in Spain’s LaLiga2.
