Early voting begins in Cuyahoga County today.CLEVELAND, Ohio— Early voting has officially started in Ohio for the general election.
West said the board expects to reach or exceed 466 voters today– the amount of people who voted on the first day of early voting during the Nov. 2018 election. He said voting is important to him especially as a Black man because his ancestors were enslaved people who were not allowed to vote. Ken Strothers, who recently moved from Elyria to Cleveland, said he decided to vote early because he can. As a U.S. Army veteran, he said voting is a privilege.“I’ve been places where they don’t have anything like libraries and stuff,” he said. “Until you miss it for years, you don’t appreciate it. That is why we have to vote.”
