A tiny Australian town has been rocked by an earthquake, with an entire state hit by a “swarm” of tremors in recent weeks.
On Tuesday at 5.24am, the 8km-deep earthquake was recorded in Wagin in the Arthur River region, around 230km southeast of Perth.
“What they are is a big number of earthquakes occurring over a small period of time without a discernible main shock.” Dr Pejic said GA had received reports of tremors from across the state, and warned that more quakes would likely be on the way.
