September 10, 2019 The Plain DealerCLEVELAND, Ohio -- A fire that erupted Monday afternoon at an East Cleveland residential complex has displaced more than 100 people, according to the Salvation Army in East Cleveland Corps Community Center.

According to East Cleveland Fire Department officials, the fire was triggered during the course of electrical maintenance. The building will remain unoccupied until repairs are completed, which is expected to happen between one to two weeks, officials said. The emergency shelter is located at the Salvation Army’s Corps, at 1507 Doan Ave. Displaced individuals will be offered shower facilities, clothing vouchers, daily meals, and coffee. In addition, case managers will be available to help individuals and families identify new support and housing alternatives, the organization said.
