Colin Bennett, known for his role as Mr Bennett on the 1980s children's show Take Hart and its spin-off Hartbeat, has sadly passed away.
Alongside a photo of his late father, Tom wrote: "My Dad sadly passed away 2 weeks ago today. I still don't quite have the words. He was my hero."Colin is fondly remembered for his role on the art shows Take Hart, which ran from 1977 to 1983, and its spin-off Hartbeat, which aired from 1984 until 1989. Both shows were hosted by TV artist Tony Hart, who died in 2009 at the age of 83.
The late actor received heartfelt messages from fans upon the announcement of his passing by his son. A fan noted: "What a hugely talented man. Sorry for your loss. He will be dearly missed."Another admirer mentioned: "Condolences. Your Dad was a brilliant performer, who enriched many lives." A fifth commented: "Very sorry to hear this. He was an absolute star of my childhood and clearly loads of other people's too."
