Nottingham City Transport to Increase Bus FaresNottingham City Transport is putting up some of its bus fares as the operator continues to face rising costs. NCT has just carried out an annual review of its fares and price changes will be coming in from Sunday, March 31. The changes include an increase to under-19 tickets and to adult day tickets in the city zone. NCT says the average increase in fares is 4.2%, but that the Government-funded £2 cap on a single fare will remain. David Astill, NCT's managing director, said: "We have worked hard to devise a fares increase for 2024 which has the minimum impact on our customers. We are pleased to confirm that our weekly and monthly Easyrider prices are frozen which is great news for Nottingham’s regular bus users." Is the government doing enough to help with the cost of living? Let us know here Graham Chapman, the chair of NCT, said: "Many bus companies throughout the UK are struggling and routes are being cut. In Nottingham, we have one of the best services in the country. We do not want to put fares up but in order to maintain the quality of service Nottingham is used to, we need some increase. I hope people will appreciate that many fares have been frozen." It comes after NCT recently announced several changes to its services, details of which can be found here
