76 per cent of adults in Britain expect the general economic conditions in the country to get worse over the next 12 months
It was published the day after the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee raised interest rates from 0.5 per cent to 0.75 per cent amid warnings that inflation could spiral to eight per cent, possibly even climbing into double digits, in the months ahead.
