Wes Byrne was upgraded to the posh seats after being mobbed by Ed Sheeran's fans at one of his gigs.
An Ed Sheeran lookalike was asked to move for his own safety at one of the singer's recent gigs after becoming mobbed by selfie-seeking fans.
The 30-year-old, who was delighted to be upgraded to executive seats, said he was often mistaken for the singer."Once the first person asked for a selfie that was it, people were blocking the stairs and security said it was a fire risk." "Most people knew I was a lookalike, but they just wanted a picture with me, although I do think a few kids thought I was the real Ed, but I wasn't going to ruin it for them."When Sheeran was first breaking into the music scene, Wes said he once had to show his passport to a convince a drunk music fan on a night out he was not him.
After being stopped "almost every day" for selfies in 2018, he was approached by a lookalike agency and gained work as a Sheeran double in a 2019 Heinz advert.
