Ed Sheeran will lead the musical tribute outside Buckingham Palace as a part of Queen Elizabeth's upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

The singer will lead the musical tribute taking place during the four-day-long celebration taking place starting on June 2 to celebrate the monarch's history-making 70 years on the throne. Sheeran is scheduled to put on a concert outside Buckingham Palace on the Sunday of the festivities during the Platinum Jubilee Pageant, the grand finale carnival that will feature appearance and performances by various British icons from music, film, sport and the arts.

While organizers have revealed that the event will be called the “People's Pageant,” they're keeping the rest of the details, aside from Sheeran's involvement, totally under wraps. The pageant's director,, explained at a press conference in London on Tuesday, “I'm going to say wait and see. We're not wanting to keep secrets, but we are trying to hold back surprises for the day.

The People's Pageant is just one of many exciting events set to transpire this summer in honor of the queen's seven decades of service. To kick off the royal festivities, 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians will gather for. That will be followed by the lighting of the Platinum Jubilee beacons throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, UK overseas territories, and, for the first time ever, in the capital cities of Commonwealth countries.
