Employing statistic techniques established by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, researchers found that 63 percent to 83 percent of the global warming projections reported by Exxon scientists coincided with actual temperatures over time. House investigators last year questioned oil company executives about whether they suppressed climate change research. Darren Woods, Exxon chief executive, said company findings were consistent with the “scientific consensus of the time.”
Those findings are buttressed by research from NASA, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, which issued similar findings to those of the climate change service.
