The 1870s Georgian building was once a popular destination for tourists and locals in Edinburgh.
Northfield House Hotel, built around the 1870s, was once viewed as a useful amenity for locals and tourists. But before the Covid pandemic, bosses shut the building down and the doors were never reopened again.
Due to the dangers of entering an abandoned building like this, proceeding to do so is never advised. The roof of the front reception area has a gaping hole in the middle, with the floorboards also torn up. There are several chairs and building materials scattered around the floor with considerable damage dealt to the rest of the property.
A single landline remains plugged in at the wall as a green flashing light can be seen from the answering machine. Elsewhere, several large bottles of juice have also been left on a table and on the floor which appear to have been left by squatters. An upstairs kitchen area is also present with a grill and food trolley left behind. The wallpaper and paintwork throughout the entire building has suffered significant damage with various holes in the walls.
