El centrocampista Efraín Álvarez, de 21 años, dejó las filas del LA Galaxy estadounidense para fichar por los Xolos del Tijuana, que ocupan la antepenúltima posición del torneo Apertura mexicano.
“El Club Tijuana hace oficial el fichaje del mediocampista mexico-americano Efraín Álvarez como nuevo refuerzo para el Apertura 2023, quien llega procedente del LA Galaxy de la MLS”, anunció este viernes el equipo fronterizo.
Álvarez es una de las principales promesas del fútbol mexicano. Sin embargo los últimos años su rendimiento ha ido a la baja y eso incidió para que su último partido con la selección de México fuera en julio de 2021.Nacido en Los Ángeles, Álvarez, cuyos padres son mexicanos, ha jugado cuatro partidos con la selección de México.Con el Galaxy Álvarez jugó 104 partidos, marcó ocho goles y dio 16 asistencias.
El centrocampista tendrá como socios en el ataque fronterizo al paraguayo Carlos González y al canadiense Lucas Cavallini.
