The athletic legends spoke with Glasgow sports fans in a flying one-day visit to Scotland for Action for Children’s 20th annual charity dinner.

Eilish McColgan spoke with 400 eager Glasgow sports fans in a flying one-day visit to Scotland for Action for Children’s 20th annual charity sports dinner on Friday. The highly decorated long-distance runner is set to represent Team GB for the fourth time at the Paris Olympics in only seven weeks time.

The event raised a total of £88,000, including auctioning a host of luxury sports experiences donated by supporters such as a virtual coaching session with Eilish McColgan herself. During the evening Eilish spoke about the importance of their strong family bond, advocating for the essential family support Action for Children provided to over 36,000 children, young people and families in Scotland last year.

During the live Q&A hosted by TV presenter David Tanner, Eilish shared insights into her upcoming Paris Olympics performance in July, admitting she had a one day break from her intense training to attend the charity event. Now celebrating its 20 th anniversary, the Action for Children Sports Dinner, sponsored by technology company KubeNet has previously welcomed a range of sporting talent including Paula Radcliffe MBE, Dame Kelly Holmes, David Haye, Greg Rusedksi and Joe Calzaghe.
