El Gobierno mexicano negó este miércoles que los cárteles del narcotráfico sean el quinto empleador más grande del país, como estimó un artículo publicado en la revista Science.
Aunque los cárteles han sido descritos al detalle en series de televisión, libros y casos penales de gran repercusión, aún se desconoce mucho sobre ellos.“Según esto, una simulación matemática, cuyos resultados obtenidos son suposiciones falsas”, criticó García Vilchis.
“Los medios de comunicación y las redes omitieron mencionar que el mismo artículo advierte que las estimaciones no pueden ser validadas significativamente con información del mundo real. Eso no importó, se lanzaron en nado sincronizado”, expresó la funcionaria. Además, criticó a los medios porque “no destacaron” en sus notas informativas la segunda parte del texto de Science, que expone que, si disminuye el reclutamiento de los cárteles a la mitad, se reduciría en un 25% el número de muertes y en un 11 % el tamaño de los grupos criminales para 2027.
