A 77-year-old Perth man who killed his ex-wife's new partner with a tomahawk, and tried to kill her and a good Samaritan who tried to intervene, will spend at least 20 years behind bars.
An elderly Perth man has been sentenced to life in jail with a 20 year minimum for murdering his ex-wife's new partner and attempting to kill her and another man who came to her rescue.
In October 2016, Etam Duga dressed up as a delivery driver and went to the Yokine unit where his ex, Vickie Fidel, was living with 73-year-old Philip Fidel. Duga went to the unit armed with a tomahawk and a knife, attacking Mr Fidel and leaving him with 18 wounds to his head and neck, plus a fractured skull.
CCTV cameras attached to another home recorded him arriving at the unit and also captured him chasing his ex-wife down the stairs.
