The 81-year-old will next week move into a rehabilitation bed where he will be taken care of during the final phases of his recovery, Queensland's Health Minister Steven Miles said. "I want to make special mention today of Richard," Mr Miles said during this morning's daily coronavirus update. "He knows better than anyone just how awful this disease can be, how great our hospital services are at saving lives from COVID but also how long it can take to recover."
The state has recorded more than 1,090 recovered cases of COVID-19 and 10 people remain in hospital with the virus.
