Sofield, the high commissioner to the Solomons from 1982 to 1985, was at a cheese shop and cafe with his wife in northern Tasmania on Thursday afternoon when he approached Morrison, who was also at the venue on the campaign trail.Asked about Sofield’s presence at the cafe, Morrison said, “I learned that later. I follow protocols with my security team and when they say it’s time for me to leave, that’s what I do.”“I couldn’t even see him,” Morrison added.
“We absolutely seek for Australia’s lowest paid workers to continue to be able to have increases in their wages,” Ruston toldthis morning while being questioned about the Coalition’s neutrality on the annual minimum wage review.The debate over wages has cemented into one of the key issues of the election campaign after Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese said this week he “absolutely” backed a rise in the minimum wage to meet the 5.1 per cent headline inflation rate.
