Labor was again grilled over its border protection policy after refusing to move on the issue of visas as Scott Morrison threw down the gauntlet to Anthony Albanese for two election debates next week. Here’s Sky News Australia’s Thursday election wrap.

The two leaders went face-to-face last week at Sky News Australia’s The People’s Forum, but Mr Albanese’s COVID diagnosis has halted any further election encounters.– Channel 7 on Thursday and Channel 9 on Sunday – and said there were “a lot of questions waiting for him” when he exited isolation. "There's a bit of back and forth that's happening at the moment between the parties. We've written to the Liberal Party recommending a debate at the press club,” Mr Clare said.
"In the budget we took three steps in advance to ensure we were shielding people from these global rising pressures on cost of living and of course on interest rates," he told Sky News Australia’s Pete Stefanovic. But the Prime Minister seemed unphased by the potential threat dismissing it as “just a lot of politics”.
