Sky News host Chris Smith says the election campaign is “heating up big time” and even the media have “decided to ramp up their interrogations”.
“Four weeks down, two to go, and like punch-drunk fighters nearing the end of the final rounds, there seems to be a definitive anger in the air … nerves are fraying, voices are being raised,” Mr Smith said.
He said this began on Friday after a journalist had the “temerity” to ask Anthony Albanese whether the Opposition Leader could “guarantee” Labor would make no cuts to health, education or the NDIS. When asked to clarify his answer, Mr Albanese argued that the word games the media plays are “putting people off politics”.
