NSW Liberal Treasurer Matt Kean says the Scott Morrison government paid the ultimate price for abandoning moderate voters and the party needed to 'get its act together' and stop shifting to the right.
NSW Liberal Treasurer Matt Kean has labelled the federal election loss an "unmitigated disaster" and says the party needs to "get its act together" to win back the support of those it has abandoned.Matt Kean said the Liberals could be celebrating a win in Warringah if they had chosen the right candidate
The comments come after the Liberal Party lost three Sydney seats to so-called teal independents, with moderate Liberal MPs unseated in Wentworth, North Sydney and Mackellar. Mr Kean, who had previously been a vocal opponent of the former government's action on climate change, said the party needed to form "sincere policies" for women and stand up for integrity in politics."Voters sent a clear message that we don't need to look to the right, they want the Liberal Party to represent the diversity of the community.
