As more and more Queenslanders are driving electric vehicles, Ray and Marice say they still can’t go past a classic Mustang.
The switch to electric vehicles in Queensland has arrived quietly, as their affordability and reliability become increasingly competitive compared with their fuel-powered counterparts.
It will be one of 70 Ford Mustangs, among a collection of 500 custom cars, that will be a major drawcard of the event at the RNA Showgrounds on Sunday.A 1960 Studebaker Hawk saloon coupe will also be on display at the Brisbane Showgrounds on Sunday.“The classic Mustangs, I thought they would smell. They don’t have airconditioning, they don’t have power steering, and they wouldn’t have any of the mod-cons,” Saunders says.
It is similar in appearance to the first Mustang that rolled out of Ford’s Michigan production lines on April 17, 1964.
