The fest, which was set to host Galantis and the Chainsmokers, among others, on Friday cited “global supply chain disruptions” as getting in the way of building the platform
The festival posted a message explaining the decision to cancel the day at 11:35 a.m. on Friday; doors were set to open at 3pm. Artists who were set to perform on Friday included Kx5 , Galantis, and the Chainsmokers, among many others.
“It is with a broken heart that we deeply regret to inform you that, despite our tireless efforts and round-the-clock commitment, we have made the painful decision to cancel the first day of Electric Zoo,” a message onreads. “This year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. The global supply chain disruptions have impacted industries worldwide, and, sadly, our beloved festival has not been immune.
People who purchased Friday tickets will get a full refund. Those who had multi-day passes will get a partial refund in the amount of one of the days. People who purchased ferry and bus tickets to get to the festival on Friday will also receive refunds for their transportation, the festival said, with prorated refunds to those with multi-day transportation plans.
