Powerlink CEO Paul Simshauser has provided an update on the capacity of power systems in Queensland, following warnings from the Australian Energy Market Operator blackouts could occur across the state on Monday evening.
“The power system itself, going into this morning, looks like there’s adequate generation capacity available,” he told Sky News Australia.
“Electricity demand in Queensland is down a little bit on forecasts that we had yesterday. Going into this evening, it will start to tighten up again. But at this stage, at least in the Queensland region, we are not anticipating that we’ll have any shortfalls.”
