East Dundee will hold an open house Tuesday, Oct. 24, to discuss preliminary plans to redevelop its riverfront. Consultants from Hitchcock Design Group will give presentations and answer questions at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. during an event that will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rakow Adult Activities Center, 665 Barrington Ave., Carpentersville, according to a village newsletter. The village also plans to conduct an online community survey on the project from Monday, Oct.

Monster Dash participants can ride Big Wheels, trikes or go-karts from Sleepy Hollow Pool, 875 Winmoor Drive, to Sabatino Park, 1 Thorobred Lane, according to the club’s Facebook page. The entry fee is $20, with proceeds going to the club’s 2024 Fourth of July fireworks fund. The free Halloween in the Hollow will include a costume contest for kids, a chili cook-off, pumpkin decorating, hay rides and a bonfire lit in advance of an appearance from the Headless Horseman.
