Elizabeth Warren stands as the lone female candidate at the top of the Democratic field. These days the 70-year-old senator appears increasingly comfortable — sometimes even determined — to remind voters of her unique standing in the race.
Days after announcing her exploratory committee on New Year's Eve, the senator embarked on a multi-city swing through the first caucus state in early January, delivering her pitch to voters on taking on the rich and the powerful and fighting corruption. At a restaurant in Council Bluffs, where the Massachusetts Democrat held her first town hall with voters, she was prompted by a reporter to reflect on being a female candidate for president.
