A record-breaking knock by Ellyse Perry and Georgia Voll’s maiden international hundred have lifted Australia to a comprehensive 122-run victory over India in the second women’s ODI in Brisbane. Perry belted six sixes — the most by an Australian in a single women’s ODI innings — in her 105 off just 75 balls as Australia stormed to an unassailable 2-0 series lead on a scorching Sunday at Allan Border Field.
Things didn’t improve with the breakthrough for the Indians however as Voll and Perry shared a 92-run second-wicket partnership, broken only when Voll fell shortly after reaching three figures. Perry and Beth Mooney then took the score past 300 with a 98-run stand off just 69 balls, but Perry’s dismissal in the 44th over sparked a mini collapse with Australia losing 6-30 in the final few overs.
