In April, Amazon said it had purchased up to 83 launches with three launch providers to loft its satellites into orbit. The company said it would spend billions on the launches as it builds out its fleet of internet satellites.United Launch Alliance SpaceX and Blue Origin have also competed for key NASA contracts, including one for a moon lander that the U.S. space agency awarded to Mr. Musk’s company last year.Mr. Musk’s SpaceX and Mr. Bezos’s Blue Origin are likely to continue competing as they develop space vehicles and rocket engines-including Blue’s planned BE-4, shown here during a test.
