JUST IN: Elon Musk announces major new opportunity for creators to make money on Twitter
... [+]Twitter will begin to share ad revenue with users, according to a tweet from CEO Elon Musk on. Creators will get paid for ads that appear in their threads, though it’s not clear yet what kind of percentage will be handed out.
The new revenue sharing program only applies to users who have subscribed to the platform’s $8 per month subscription service, Twitter Blue, according to Musk. And any users who got their blue checkmark before Musk’s takeover will not be eligible. “Twitter’s legacy Blue Verified is unfortunately deeply corrupted, so will sunset in a few months,” Musk tweeted inDetails haven’t been released about the new program, but Musk tweeted that it will start today. And you can bet plenty of creators are anxious to learn what kind of cut they’ll make. YouTube gives creators a 55% cut on revenue, while TikTok splits revenue 50/50 with its creators.“how do we sign up,” though the conservative commentator didn’t get an immediate response.
