Companies, governments and individuals who pay for the premium service will be given different-coloured check marks. The service will be 'tentatively launching' on December 2, according to Elon Musk.

The report was based on data collected over the spring — before Mr Musk acquired Twitter — as part of an annual evaluation of online platforms' compliance with the bloc's voluntary code of conduct on disinformation.
