Elon Musk will begin laying off Twitter staffers Friday, days after his $44 billion takeover

Twitter will begin laying off staff members on Friday, a week after Elon Musk's takeover of the company.

A Twitter employee said Thursday's email was the first communication staff members had received from Twitter since the acquisition Oct. 27.
