The state's regulator, the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal , is looking to recommend whether customers on embedded energy networks should have a maximum price cap. "Last year, a NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into embedded networks heard instances of residents receiving hot water charges for $2000 over a nine-month period and $9700 for a 14-month period," IPART tribunal member Sandra Gamble said.Embedded energy networks are usually used in new builds, retirement villages and caravan parks.
